Our clients in 2023 asked for a cheaper option to catch peacock without an international flight/trip. So we found a great guide outside Ft. Lauderdale, FL for them. Now we work with Capt. Skip often for our east coast and southern clients to check off the peacock bass and clown knife fish from their list. Also you can get into some great large mouth bass and snakeheads on this trip.

For $400 for a ½ day you’ll be fishing before sun rise and off the water before noon with landing plenty of fish. We were able to put 12 peacocks, 2 clown knife fish, and 3 large mouth in the boat while Skip was landing fish after fish on live bait from the back of the boat. You can fly fish, spin fish, or use live bait on this trip. It’s all your call on what you want to do with the boat for your half day. Full days are available for $600 but it does get hot after 11am.

For travel you’ll fly into Ft. Lauderdale and head north about an hour into the Key West area. Hotels are everywhere or you can rent an AIRBNB (let us know if you need help with lodging options).

You’ll need to bring your own fly equipment (rod, reel, lines, flies, etc). All conventional tackle is provided by Capt. Skip if you’d like to use it. This desitnation is great for the whole family as you’ll be lodging 5-10 minutes from the beach. Kids can fish and the family can enjoy a beach day afterwards.
